Speeko, Inc. (“Speeko,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) values your trust and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your data when you use our products and services.

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy applies to all of Speeko’s digital products, including:

  • The Speeko iOS app

  • The Speeko Android app

  • The Speeko web app at https://app.speeko.co

  • Any other websites, apps, or tools operated by Speeko (collectively, the “Services”).

Please read this Policy carefully. By using the Services, you consent to the collection, use, and processing of your information as described here. If you do not agree, you should not use the Services. You can withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account.

We may update this Policy periodically. Changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the Services after any updates means you accept the revised Policy.

2. Information We Collect

(a) Account and Profile Information. When you create an account, we collect:

  • Name

  • Email address

  • Password (encrypted)

  • Basic profile preferences (e.g., feedback settings)

(b) Audio and Transcript Data. We process your audio data and transcripts to provide feedback, insights, and playback functionality. There are three specific cases where your audio data leaves your device:

  1. Audio Storage: When you create a session, your audio is securely transmitted to Speeko’s servers and encrypted both in transit (TLS/HTTPS) and at rest (AES-256).

  2. Transcription: When you enable automatic transcription, your audio data is shared with our transcription provider for speech-to-text processing. The transcription provider does not listen to or retain audio for its own use. After transcription, the transcription provider queues the audio data for deletion.

  3. Voluntary sharing (“Share with Speeko”): You may choose to share a session with the Speeko team by tapping “Share with Speeko.” This allows us to listen to your audio for quality improvement and training of Speeko’s internal AI. You can “unshare” at any time, and all associated audio data will be deleted from our servers.
    Note: Any AI models already trained using shared data will remain unchanged.

We do not sell or share your audio data with third parties for advertising or profiling purposes.

(c) AI and Machine Learning Features. Speeko uses artificial intelligence (“AI”) and machine learning technologies to analyze your speech and provide personalized feedback. When you use the Content Feedback feature:

  • Your transcript text (not your audio) is securely transmitted to a third-party provider to generate feedback.

  • The third-party provider processes this data only to produce the requested insights and does not retain or use it to train its own models.

  • Speeko may use aggregated, de-identified data internally to improve AI performance and reliability.

You can delete your data at any time.

(d) Device and Technical Information. When you use the Services, we may automatically collect:

  • Device model, operating system, and version

  • App version

  • Language, region, and time zone

  • IP address and browser type (for web)

This helps us monitor performance, detect issues, and improve the experience.

(e) Analytics and Cookies. We use third-party providers to understand how users interact with our Services and to guide product improvements. These tools collect anonymized usage data such as session frequency, feature engagement, and device type. Cookies or local storage may also be used on the web app for session management and analytics. You can disable cookies in your browser settings.

(f) Optional Information. You may choose to provide additional information, such as survey responses or feedback forms.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your data to:

  • Operate and improve the Services

  • Provide personalized coaching and AI feedback

  • Sync your audio data and transcripts across devices

  • Respond to customer inquiries and support requests

  • Analyze usage trends and improve app performance

  • Communicate updates, offers, or surveys (you can opt out anytime)

  • Comply with legal obligations and maintain security

Refund Requests (Apple App Store): By starting a free trial or purchasing a subscription through Apple’s App Store, you are giving us your consent to share relevant usage and consumption data about your in-app activity with Apple in order to facilitate the review of your refund request. This information will be transmitted to Apple only for the purpose of evaluating your refund (for example, confirming whether and how you used the service). By using our app and making in-app purchases, you acknowledge and agree to this data sharing. If you would like to request access to or deletion of your consumption data, you may do so at any time by contacting Apple (privacy.apple.com). If you wish to withdraw your consent, you must immediately cease using the Services and request account deletion. Continued use of the Services constitutes ongoing acceptance of this data-sharing provision.

4. How We Share Information

We only share your data in the limited cases below:

  • For transcription with a third-party provider: Audio processed for speech-to-text, queued for deletion

  • For content feedback with a third-party provider: Transcript (no audio) processed for AI analysis.

  • For user analytics with a third-party provider

  • For App Store payments with Apple

  • For legal compliance with government or law enforcement (only if required by law)

  • For corporate changes with a successor entity (if Speeko merges or is acquired)

We do not sell personal data.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

(a) Session deletion. When you delete a session, its audio, transcript, and metadata are permanently deleted.

(b) Account deletion. When you delete your account, all personal data is permanently deleted from our servers within 30 days.

(c) Backups. Encrypted backup copies may persist temporarily but are purged within standard retention cycles.

6. Your Rights and Controls

You can:

  • Access, download, or delete your audio data at any time.

  • Delete your account (permanently erasing all personal data).

7. Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your data:

  • TLS/HTTPS for data in transit

  • AES-256 encryption at rest

  • Strict access controls and authentication

  • Routine monitoring for unauthorized access

While we take reasonable precautions, no system is 100% secure. Please use strong passwords and safeguard your account.

8. Children’s Privacy

Speeko does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13 years old. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us at info@speeko.co, and we will delete it.

9. Do-Not-Track and Tracking Technologies

Our web app may use cookies and analytics tools as described above. We do not currently respond to “Do Not Track” (DNT) signals because a uniform standard has not been established.

10. California and International Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, you may request information about how we share data under the “Shine the Light” law.

If you are located outside the U.S., you consent to your data being processed and stored in the United States, where Speeko’s servers are located.
